Oh man, DAT OP. No wait, I wasn’t actually that impressed by it. I had heard a lot of praise for the new opening, so I was looking forward to something absolutely mind-blowing. I guess Flow didn’t deliver? Or more likely, my expectations were probably too high due to all the hype. Still, I actually enjoyed the new ED for a change. It’s catchy; I like it.*
More seriously though, we actually have some semblance of a plot beyond busting up the “monster of the week”. That’s good. I like where this is going. So if Ao has a secret sister, this must mean that Truth is actually Renton, and in extension, Ao’s father. Let’s just snip a little excerpt from Star Wars to see how well it plays out.
Truth: Gramps never told you what happened to your father.
Ao: He told me enough! He told me you killed him!
Truth: No. I am your father.
Ao: No… No… That’s not true. That’s impossibru!
Truth: Search your feelings, you know it to be true!
Ao: Nooooo! Nooo!
Hmm… That actually turned out better than expected. I’d laugh if this actually happened though, since it’s pretty much guaranteed not to be the case.
See: new OP expectations. Not the OP itself. It’s not bad; just not as good as it was made out to be. In my opinion, that is.
Man, that “new” Naru. I’m really not digging her. She started off rather meh, and now she’s just being a cryptic bitch (albeit a naked one). Oh wait, that’s like all women. Wait. Forget I said that. It was just a joke, honest. I guess on the plus side she now has an important role and an actual personality as opposed to being the trophy wife for Ao to return home to.
*TL Note: Catchy means memorable.
